People think I'm a douche.
And maybe I am.
I use most people.
It's what I know.
But if I love you,
I'd die for you.
I just don't know that I'm worth loving.
Handsome, privileged bad boy Zac Moore has always played by his own rules - at school, in business, with women. He's rewritten the rules to suit his own needs and his needs are all that matter.
Serious and focused family friend Liliana Castillo has one goal. Leave the pre-Med program at Yale to help people in developing nations.
As their paths cross and uncross, a tale of love, agony, betrayal and growth is woven, transforming two people who've hidden from relationships and love.
This is a stand-alone novel.
Another amazing addition from Julie's lineup!!
I love all of the Moore's and have to say Zac was my least liked (next to CJ of course). This book made me fall for the bad son and see him completely differently! I love that Julie was able to transform a character that I had such strong feelings for in one series and bring him into a new light just by giving him his own story.
Zac is what some would call a ladies man in college, he's all about his pleasure and no one else's, as long as he gets off who cares about the girl. With the exceptions of his best friends Liz and Brian no one really knows Zac not even his own family. After a very troubled beginning relationship with his new step mother he has been accepted as one of the family and finally feels that way too.
Lilly is not even on the same spectrum as Zac, she's light years ahead in Zac's eyes. The unattainable and since he's been dissed by her she's become the one who he wants. Not just in a challenge sort of way but as a intriguing kind of way. What is it about that girl that has her on his mind? What makes her so special?
This book was a complete up and down of emotion for my feelings for Zac, in the beginning I didn't like him, I admit I was hesitant on even thinking of liking him, by the middle I wanted to know what makes him tick and by the end he was book boyfriend material.
Bad Son Rising Excerpts (Choose One)
Britt Logan was a Stage Five clinger, but gave, quite possibly, the best head east of the Mississippi. The latter was the only reason Zac Moore tolerated her suffocating presence. Oh, and she did make nice arm candy, he'd give her that, although that was only of marginal importance to him.
Propped against pillows with his hands behind his head, he watched her head bobbing up and down, listened to her slurping sounds. In another time, another place, that would've gotten him so hot. The girl could suck like a Dyson, and yet, he had the urge to push her away and tell her to get the fuck out of his dorm room. But what the hell, he'd tolerate her until he came and then get rid of her.
Picking up his cell phone, he checked messages. Really wanting to know the scores on some games he had bet on, Zac was pleased to see he'd made a killing on a few of them as well as that he'd be collecting a shitload of money on the bets he took. As he became more engrossed in scrolling through the games, he became almost oblivious to Britt's sucking. Placing the phone on the bed next to him, he closed his eyes and attempted to clear his mind and concentrate. If he could concentrate it would be over soon and he could get on with his night.
"Lils, I don't know that I'm great boyfriend material. I'm used to being a dick. It's what I know." He was hoping she'd say something, but she didn't. "But I would want it to be different with you. You're not a drive-by. And I don't really know how to do the other stuff. But you make me want it. You make me want to try."
Sweeping her hair to one side, he buried his face in her neck.
Finally, she spoke, "Are you saying this to me because we're stuck here? Because if you are, don't. I don't want a one night stand with you, Zac."
Letting his teeth graze the soft skin of her neck, he felt her shiver, "I don't want a one night stand with you either and with my track record I know that may be hard to believe. And of course the one girl I want to believe it, doesn't." Pulling his mouth away from her delicious tasting neck, he rested his chin on her shoulder.
"Ok, I've got nothing to lose here," he began. "The weekend we met, all I wanted to do was make you notice me," he laughed, "and you didn't even know that I was alive. I wanted to make you smile, Lils. Isn't that crazy. I just wanted to make you smile."
Turning herself fully within the circle of his arm, she was on her knees facing him, "You wanted to make me smile?"
"I was so miserable. I just wanted to be over here. I didn't want to be back at Yale." Surprising him, she placed her hands on his cheeks, "And you wanted to make me smile?"
He nodded again.
And there it was, beautiful and elusive, and Zac could feel his emotions rising dangerously close to the surface. Liliana Castillo had a heart stopping smile and the only thing he could do was return it with one of his own.
“I wasn’t kidding when I said that I was not going to be able to wait for next time.”
Lily’s elusive smile started at the corners of her mouth, lifting the apples of her cheeks and crinkling the outer edges of her gold-flecked eyes. “Do you seriously think you’re going to bang me against a Baobab tree?”
“I know I’m going to bang you against a Baobab tree.” He was already working on the zipper of her jeans. With his hands inside her pants, he slipped them into her underwear, tightly grasping her ass.
Lily’s gasp was audible as he kneaded a cheek with each hand.
“Are you ready for me?” he whispered.
Nodding she stepped out of her jeans and he undid his. Lifting her, she wrapped her legs around his slim hips and he lowered her onto his waiting cock. Leaning her back against the ancient tree trunk for leverage, Zac thrust his hips up burying himself deeply within Lily.
Her eyes were wide as she let out another gasp. “I’ve never fucked against a tree.”
Zac laughed, “It’s a first for me too, babe.” And after a few more strokes, “Tighten your legs around me, Lils.” Not taking his eyes off of hers, “You feel so damn good.”
“You too,” were the only words she could squeak out and finally, as a result of his deep pounding, with bated breath, “Zac.”
He nodded, “I know, babe.” His final powerful thrusts had her back molded to the tree.
He fell into her, the old Baobab holding them both up. With their heads on one another’s shoulders, they stood very still until they’d both regained their breath.
Hand-in-hand they headed back to camp.
Please don’t fall in love with me, Zac silently warned.
Please fall in love with me, Zac silently prayed.
