Fans
of Monica Murphy and Tammara Webber will savor this New Adult novel—a story
about coming of age in the heat of the moment—from Julie Cross, the
internationally bestselling author of the Tempest trilogy.
I used to be “Isabel Jenkins, child
prodigy.” As lame as that sounds, at least it was an identity. But now I’m not
sure what I am. I just failed the most important exam of my life—the emotional
readiness test required to get into a medical residency program—and it turns
out my parents can’t stand each other. Now I’m trying to figure out how to pick
up the pieces of my life, and that means re-enrolling as a college freshman,
but this time I’m shutting the books and majoring in being eighteen.
But so far, my roommate hates me and I’m
not into the party scene. The only good thing about school has been getting to
know my insanely hot RA. Marshall Collins makes me wonder about everything I
missed while I was growing up too fast. Pretty soon we’re hanging out
constantly, but for the first time, I find myself wanting more than a
no-strings-attached physical relationship. And the lesson I really need is one
Marsh definitely can’t teach me: love. Because I’m going to be alone forever if
I don’t learn fast.
OUR REVIEW
A must read
Wow...this book was so refreshing. I had been in a book slump when I picked this one up and I am so happy that I did! I couldnt stop myself from laughing out loud and smiling with each paged turned. I seriously couldn't put it down as I needed more of Izzy and Marsh.
This is a story about Izzy a genius and a doctor at rhe age of 18. She is beyond brilliant but lacks the emotion to get her residency. So...she needs to experience what a "normal" teenager would and to reach some of the milestones that she missed out on. Even though she is a licensed physician and has multiple degrees she ventures off to college. This is where she meets her RA Marshal aka Marsh.
Marshal is awesome! You fall for him immediately. He is of course good looking but he also knows how to handle the quirks that come with Izzy. He immediately wants to help her and befriends her.
The relationship between the two is fantastic. It made me smile like a school girl in love. Yep I couldn't stop lol. The author writes this story with such detail that you truly do feel every emotion and believe me there are plenty. Like I mentioned I was laughing out loud at some of the behaviors Izzy was conducting and then with a turn of the page my heart was breaking for the girl who just wasn't "normal".
I honestly can't say it enough that this book is a must read! You will fall ? Love with Izzy and Marsh as well. Definitely add this to your tbr list and one click it immediately :)
