Carter was captivated by Ellyson Evans the moment he laid eyes on her, but she was the one girl who didn't beg for his attention. He wanted her. Ellyson vowed to never fall in love, because love can destroy you, but then she met Carter Jennings. She wanted him. Unwilling to risk their comfortable friendship, neither confessed their desires. Losing touch after college, a chance meeting reconnects them. They want each other. But love in the city is never quite that easy.
This book was recieved as an ARC for an honest review!
So let's talk about how this book sent me on a whirlwind of emotions. Elly wasn't looking for a boyfriend because with that came love and with that came heartbreak eventually. When Carter sat down next to her in her class and talked to her that was it for Elly she was a gonner. Over the course of their college carreers they quickly became the best of friends even though all of their friends saw what they both were afraid to risk by becoming more.
Carter moved away after his father needed him to take his place in the family oil business, behind he left his heart and life with Elly in New York. Elly was sad to watch Carter drive off with her heart and knew that when you say you will keep in touch that some times you don't.
9 long years later Carter is back in New York and hoping to see Elly only this time he's not happy with only being "friends".
The drama in this book isn't your typical jealous ex, or stalker, or even that one is a celebrity, the drama in this book is a highly emotional one involving the health of the one you truly love.
This book was a really great read and I only hope that each and every one of you take the time to read it!
